Tell Congress to Support the Scientific Integrity Act!

Dear Friend of CFI,

Scientists at federal agencies are witnessing unprecedented political interference in the scientific process and a torrent of rhetoric impugning their work. In response, Representatives Paul D. Tonko (D-NY) and Senator Brian Schatz (D-HI) have introduced the Scientific Integrity Act (H.R. 1709 and S. 775, respectively), to protect scientists and their work from political corruption.

Science-based policy improves our world. It often saves lives. It’s critical that the way science is conducted, reviewed, communicated to the public, and incorporated into policymaking be transparent, and free from improper influence. Inquiry must be free. Facts and evidence matter.

We urge you, please use our pre-written form to write to your representatives and urge them to join the Scientific Integrity Act as a cosponsor. Science needs protection now more than ever.

All you need to do is call (202) 224-3121 with your zip code to be connected to your elected officials. If you are unable to call, please use our action alert system to send your representatives a written message.

Note: the Title field below is required by the United States government database that sorts these messages and directs them to the correct representative's office. We unfortunately cannot customize the honorifics available or make the field optional, as that would cause the database to reject the message. We recommend choosing Dr. for those who use gender-neutral honorifics.

Zip Codes: Sections of many zip codes appear in multiple legislative districts. To accurately find your legislators the system often requires a full Zip+4 Code. If you do not know your +4, we recommend using the US Postal Service website.
