So to conclude “mind and heart” are meant to be the overall emotional and rational parts.
Hmm.. Not sure I’d agree here. The heart is an organ, yes, but it is said to “love”, which is physically and scientifically incorrect. The brain is an organ, but the mind is different. The mind contains both the conscious and subconscious. It too has irr…[Read more]

Thanks for your analysis! 👍
When I wrote the entry, I didn’t know about CFI, nor was I planning on holding the entry upto scientific scrutiny. I just thought it was good storytelling. 😆
Anyway, I’ll respond to your points more specifically later today. I have to do some errands now. But I just wanted to acknowledge that I read your post…[Read more]

The result is the same
I know the result is the same! 2a is the answer for both addition and multiplication in this case… so I don’t know why you’re continuing to beat a dead horse over it. We’re both correct. QED.
Ok, moving on…

I disagree, in mathematics 2a is a multiplication, not an addition or a concatenation.
But you’re the one who multiplied! 🤣 a plus a is two a’s. Written as “2a” in math. Correct?

So, continuing with this train of thought: if “everything has value because it provides meaning to the thing”, that means those who believe in God also have value, because that faith in God provides meaning to them.
It could also mean the pseudorandom energy that created the Universe has a patttern/structure (yet to be discovered, of course),…[Read more]

EVERYTHING has a value, a pattern, a structure that gives meaning to the thing .
Including God! Wow, I didn’t know you had such strong faith! 👏👏👏

Strings don’t have mathematical values. It’s like saying “a+a=aa”. There’s no mathematical value, they’re just characters. The plus sign concatenates the characters together.
I guess I’m the only Software Engineer here? 🤣

Neil Rodrigues replied to the topic Death: Soul in the forum General Discussion 3 years, 6 months ago
Ah, I see. But even that is flawed. In Computer Science, 1+1=2, but if the 1’s are strings, 1+1=11. 🤣

Natural selection is a mathematically probabilistic function and is very much related to throwing the dice, which is also probabilistic mathematical function.
I guess the main difference is that believers would say God threw the dice first, whereas scientists would say Mother Nature did! 🤣

What does health have to do with it? Your soul only leaves you physically when you die, not when you’re sick…

How do I know? How does anyone know anything?
Wow, that’s deep. 😎

I deleted them from Twitter (because I didn’t want to look like a crazy person! 🤣), but luckily I still have the images in my Google Photos. This was taken Saturday, May 31, 2014:

I’m guessing it’s meant to say “Pa x true -> alpha, false ->omega” Or, perhaps:
Neil’s = “Father”. The “true” “Alpha” but “false” “Omega”. => not the An…[Read more]

Awesome!
From the Pilot wave theory link, I saw this:
Albert Einstein objected to the fundamentally probabilistic nature of quantum mechanics, and famously declared “I am convinced God does not play dice”.
I actually tested that quote experimentally years ago. I purchased a set of 7 dice with letters on them, used for a Boggle-type game. E…[Read more]

But that is a false equivalence. You are just citing the law of conservation of energy. That has nothing to do with life force or soul.
On the contrary, the law of conservation states that energy doesn’t just die, because it is neither created nor destroyed.
Let’s examine the law further, because I believe it supports my…[Read more]

When something dies, all its potential dies with it.
What about when stars die and supernova? Their energy doesn’t die, it explodes and transfers to anything around it.

Neil Rodrigues replied to the topic Death: Soul in the forum General Discussion 3 years, 6 months ago
What about work?
“Potential energy is closely linked with forces. If the work done by a force on a body that moves from A to B does not depend on the path between these points (if the work is done by a conservative force), then the work of this force measured from A assigns a scalar value to every other point in space and defines a scalar…[Read more]

Hi all,

You should try indoor skydiving. It’s the closest to flying you can get!

Nice! 😁 What you’re describing sounds like what we call “bottom-up” and “top-down” design in Software Engineering. It’s kind of a methodology used for solving problems, but it can easily be applied to anything, including going through life choices.
