Yep.  Those are the teams who will play for the Lombardi Trophy in Super Bowl Roman Numeral Something, this year of our Optometrist 2020.

    Yay

Will the commercials be entertaining?  Will the halftime show be palatable? Will the phenomenon QB, MaHomes, bring the trophy to Kansas?  Or will the balanced offense/defense of the 9ers prevail?

There must be many participants on the Forums who are excited beyond measure about this upcoming Super Bowl. No?

Trying to tell if you are being sarcastic.

I still enjoy the game, but the thrill is not quite what it used to be. Something to do with testosterone levels I suppose.

I was trying to decide whether I should be sarcastic or just pass on the info.  I settled for something in between.  It is a USA tradition, now (the Super Bowl I mean).  My team hasn’t gotten that far in a long while, so I am not thrilled either.

Chiefs win.  It was a competitive game.  Chiefs scored 20 pts in the last 6 min or so to take the lead, and win.  Yay.

It was a bit like the old days before the US became a dictatorship.  Just a bit.

Tim I’m batting two for two.  On one side a life long Lakers fans with last weeks happenings.  On the other, my son-in-law is a life long BIG KC fan.  He had a couple friends over, I was able to wear one of his KC jerseys for the big game,.

KC starts strong with a score.  In the 2nd quarter, SF comes back.   During a close up of QB Mahones’ face, I saw fear, couple plays later saw it again with irritation.  I was thinking oh boy that’s that for them.  Early in the third, our host made us all take off the Jersey.  Guess it’s a superstition thing, and guess it worked, because the team was shamed into stepping up their game, and step it up they did.

And damned if the QB closeups now showed a composed focused guy.  Guess that’s what makes the great ones, ability to pull it together and come back and focus on the problem at hand.

It was a good game.  Half-time made me gage, now don’t get me wrong, I love woman, and I love sexy, but that, what was that?

When I think of the mega media event the Super Bowl has become, the commercials and what’s gone down in Miami and ESPN this past week,

This is the best America has to offer?  Is this all Americans are craving for anymore, and can never seem to get enough. But, it’s all bling and farts.

It’s like no wonder America is going to hell and why we have a cartoon character as our president – apparently its what we deserve.  No wonder we turn out sad lost souls like X.

It’s like i gotta wonder why do I even care about anything beyond my reach.  Oh yeah, I’m an Earth Centrist and this feeling of yuck will also pass, I’ve got my gal and a wonderful baby grandson and a baby library district to worry about, why worry about the world going to hell, get back to today.

Well Tim, more than you asked for, I imagine.   It was an enjoyable well played fun game, and I’m glad for being here with my new crew for it.  😉

It was a celebration of LatinX culture in the most latin city in the USA.

That’s what latinX people act like. If you have a problem with it vote for Trump and help put the boot on these troublesome displays through his immigration policies.

LatinX – yeah sound like something Hollywood and Wall Street dreamt up.  Guess it stands for Americanized-Latin on steroids.

But I guess, you would have to try to blame that abortion on an ethnic group rather than on the producers.

I’ve seen sexy Latin dancing, never seen it done with a pole.

Americanized, possibly, but not made up. On my mission trip to Colombia, Shakira’s home country, we were treated to a presentation by some school kids. Just like we were taught square dancing, they were taught their traditional dances. It’s very colorful and a bit sexy. See my picture in the link.

Okay, I don’t pretend to know anything about LatinX, I have no gripe with LatinX, or sexy dance – but what happened on that LIV Half-time stage was about as much LatinX, as Charlton Heston was the real Moses in the Ten Commandments.

I simply voiced my bewildered, mixed with a certain distaste, at the over the top excess, on that stage with that silly performance, during the commercials and during that days long pregame thing on ESPN.  I wonder how many of those partiers were passed out or recovering by the time of kick off.  Or is it like the nationally televised Russian New Year’s Gala where everyone has the same smiles, as they um-pa to the music, and they keep toasting with those glasses of champagne, but look closer at those glasses, they never drink any, it’s all pretend party.

I can’t help be visited by thoughs of: ‘For this we’ve bombed the hell out of Middle East and created a world that hates and fears us?  This is the Democracy they all thump their chests over.’  ‘For this we are destroying our very own life-support system, weird humans.’

Though seems we are pretty much the same everywhere – we just got luckier than most areas in the USA – This country simply had a lot more special stuff on offer when the western world “found it”.  Been frantically bustling to consume it all fast as possible – I never could wrap my head around that.  Not back when Reagan supercharged this self-destruction, and certainly not now, being keenly aware of what’s unfolding upon this planet and within it’s oceans and atmosphere.

Part of me, the god’s eye view, the Xian view, as I learn more and more, I also more and more accept most all of us deserve what’s coming our way.  Thousands of years worth of myths, and fairytales, and warnings, yet when it really counted, and when we really achieved a good level of comfort, and understanding about our planet than ever before, we said, so fucking what, lets party.  But for a couple decades (’70s ’80s) humanity had the power to make an incredibly different healthier future.  But, Me First always seems to get in the way.

Rather than developing the attitudes and Earth Appreciation, that was needed to make our wonderful incredible biosphere last a little longer to benefit the Seventh Generation, we can’t even be brought to take substantive action to slow down for the sake of our own children’s generations.  Bling and playing big shot is too important, weird humans.

Then I look at this wonderful little one and it’s not so easy to let go.   🙁
