Evolution Only Breaks Things: The Science Denial at the Heart of Intelligent Design

Thursday, September 24 at 7pm ET, on the next Skeptical Inquirer Presents live online event, biologist and bestselling author Nathan Lents will join host Leighann Lord to turn the tables on Intelligent Design, revealing a movement that denies science and ignores evidence.

“Intelligent Design” is the pseudoscientific movement that asserts that evolution is the handiwork of a supernatural force. While its proponents present it as an alternative theory for the origin of life, it’s really an ideological project meant to bolster creationism and delegitimize science.

Nathan Lents is a Professor of Biology at John Jay College, of the City University of New York, and the author of Not So Different: Finding Human Nature in Animals and Human Errors: A Panorama of our Glitches from Pointless Bones to Broken Genes, a book that shows just how unintelligently designed we humans actually are.
