We are one species, one global human civilization, and we rise or fall together.
We choose reason over rage and empathy over bigotry. We choose critical thinking and compassionate hearts.
The people of the Center for Inquiry, all around the world, stand in defiance and condemnation of the violence and hatred that took the lives of at least forty-nine of our fellow human beings in Christchurch, New Zealand, and injured dozens more. We stand in support of those working to aid the victims and see justice done. We stand in friendship with those who have been terrorized and made to feel unwelcome because of their religion, national origin, or skin color. And we offer our deepest sympathies to those who have lost family, friends, loved ones, colleagues, and neighbors.
We choose to rise.
