The Story of a Momentous Year: Milestone Triumphs in the Face of Great Challenges

February 25, 2015

2014 was a year of tremendous, groundbreaking achievements, advancing the causes of science, reason, and secularism in significant ways. It was also a year
of incredible challenges, as the oppressors of free expression and the deniers of scientific reality accelerated their efforts to dismantle civilization’s
moral and intellectual progress. But with your support, the Center for Inquiry was instrumental in these milestone victories, and undaunted in the fight
for the values of skepticism and humanism.

To tell the story of this remarkable year, we are proud to present to you our annual report for 2014, Progress Report: Winning Landmark Victories, Confronting New Challenges.

This report tells of the work that you helped make possible with your financial support, your activism, and your enthusiasm for the
mission of CFI.

* Together, we fought for secularism and the equality of nonreligious Americans, scoring a major victory in federal court for Secular Celebrants in
Indiana, and challenging the Supreme Court’s misguided decision on prayer at government meetings.

* Together, we focused the world’s attention on the global crackdown on free expression and freedom of religion, confronting offenders like Saudi Arabia
face to face, in front of the leaders of the international human rights community.

* Together, we celebrated, debated, and engaged in mind-opening discussions at exciting conferences, workshops, and events.

* Together, we took on the charlatans, conspiracy theorists, faith healers, quacks, celebrity gurus, and science deniers who are polluting the discourse
around health care, women’s reproductive rights, climate change, vaccinations, and other crucial issues where science is under assault.

And that’s just a sample of what was a truly momentous 2014. Download the full report here. Thank you for all you’ve done to support our cause.

This year, we have a chance to do even more.

In 2015, public opinion is turning against the anti-vaccination movement. The mainstream media is finally beginning to reject the absurd claims of climate
change deniers. The international community is united in its condemnation of violence and persecution in the name of religion. And now that the Center for
Inquiry has formally unified with the Council for Secular Humanism and the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, we have never been better positioned for breakthroughs for free expression, science, and secular government.

At CFI, we aim to shine the light of reason on the challenges we face as a global community, and we need you to keep this light burning brightly into 2015
and beyond. Please donate today to strengthen our growing community, advocate for
science and secularism, and build upon all the amazing work we’ve done so far.

Please donate today!

P.S. For the chance to get connected, enlightened, and inspired about all that’s possible in skepticism and humanism in 2015, please join us for our
