We Did It! CFI Met with Every New Member of Congress

April 22, 2019

When a new and more diverse freshman class of Congress came to Washington earlier this year, forming a new Democratic majority, we told you that we intended to hit the ground running, and meet with each newly elected representative in the first 100 days of the 116th Congress. I’m happy to report to you that our goal is complete!

It took a lot of emailing, scheduling, and pounding the pavement, but last week we met our goal. That means every new member of Congress knows that the Center for Inquiry, as a leader of the secular community, is watching to ensure they protect the role of science in evidence-based policy, and that they uphold our constitutional right to a government and policies that are free from the corrosive effects of religion.

CFI’s Nick Little, Secular Coalition for America’s Mark Gann, and CFI’s Jason Lemieux

And we couldn’t have done it without you. Your support of CFI enables us to make CFI a meaningful and respected voice in Washington. As the religious Right’s preferred laws and policies threaten to impose the views of a radical religious minority on us, CFI is one of the leading voices calling for sanity and fighting for the separation of church and state.

We still need your support to carry on the fight!
