Christine Shellska is a Ph.D. Candidate (ABD) in the Department of Communication, Media and Film, Faculty of Arts, at the University of Calgary, Canada. Her research involves studying the rhetorical strategies employed by the Intelligent Design Creationism movement. She is the first Canadian to be elected to the Board of Directors of the American Humanist Association, past President and current member/volunteer of Atheist Alliance International, and a regular co-host on the Calgary-based Legion of Reason Diversion podcast. Christine is also a seasoned communications advisor and graphic designer, specializing in corporate communications and branding, marketing, and advertising.
Christine debates, presents, and engages in panel discussions locally, as well as at prominent conferences including the American Humanist Association Annual Conference, The Amaz!ng Meeting (TAM), and Imagine No Religion and the Non-Conference (Canada). Her repertoire of topics are diverse, ranging from the role of rhetoric in promoting skepticism, to the impact of blasphemy laws worldwide.
